Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I care for my Coucke tea towels?

Our tea towels are designed for regular, intensive use in your kitchen. The vast majority of our designs (whether 100% cotton, printed or jacquard-woven) are machine washable at 60°C (140°F). This temperature effectively removes stains while preserving the fabric's excellent absorbency.

Where are Coucke linens made?

Coucke's story began in 1931 in the North of France, and preserving French know-how remains one of our priorities. Many of our ranges (such as the plain Cambrai collection) are certified Origine France Garantie: the fabric is woven in the Vosges, then dyed and sewn in the Hauts-de-France region. Depending on the weaving and finishing techniques required, some of our items may also be carefully made in Portugal.

What materials are used in your products?

Table and kitchen linens must combine style, durability and practicality. That's why we favour high-quality natural fibres. Our collections mainly come in cotton (classic, organic, jacquard or cotton gauze), pure linen, and métis — a blend combining the qualities of cotton and linen.

Are the tablecloths stain-resistant?

Yes — we designed them for everyday use! For example, the 100% cotton tablecloths in our Cambrai range are coated with a special Teflon® treatment. This protection keeps stains (wine, sauces, butter and other grease) from settling into the fabric. Liquids simply bead on the surface, so you can wipe the tablecloth clean with a sponge and space out machine washes.
